Leclerc and Hamilton to debut new blueprint look on Friday.
Scuderia Ferrari HP has revealed a special blueprint-inspired livery for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. The design will appear on the SF-26 cars of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, and it makes its track debut during Friday practice. The race weekend runs from October 23 to 25, and the new look gives Ferrari’s fans something different to watch in Texas.
The announcement follows a cryptic teaser Ferrari shared on social media with title sponsor HP in the build-up to the Austin round. The video hinted that something was coming, and the SF-26 could be seen partly hidden in darkness in the background. The team has now confirmed what it was preparing: a livery built around engineering drawings and technical graphics.
Ferrari Blueprint Livery Debuts at the US Grand Prix
The special design will be seen for the first time on Friday, when the cars take to the track for practice at the Circuit of the Americas. From that point on, Leclerc and Hamilton will carry the blueprint look through the rest of the Austin weekend.
Special liveries are rarely just cosmetic. They give a team a chance to show its identity in a different way, and they often become some of the most talked-about images of a season. Ferrari’s choice for Austin leans into the technical side of Formula 1 rather than a traditional colour change, which suits a sport where design and engineering decide so much.
Engineering Drawings and Technical Graphics on the SF-26
The central idea of the livery is to put the engineering process on show. Instead of hiding the work that happens long before a car reaches the circuit, the design features engineering drawings and technical graphics across the bodywork of both SF-26s.
The SF-26 is Ferrari’s challenger for the 2026 season and the first car the team designed under the new regulations. Ferrari said when it launched the car at Fiorano on January 23 that the rules prompted a complete rethink of the car’s architecture. The standard livery uses a brighter shade of red with white placed around the cockpit and across the engine cover. The blueprint design now offers a very different take on the same car.
HP Partnership Brings Advanced Printing Technology
The livery was created together with HP, which is Ferrari’s title sponsor and part of the team’s official name, Scuderia Ferrari HP. The design uses advanced printing technology to wrap the curves of the car, which is a real challenge on a Formula 1 machine with complex shapes and tight surfaces.
Applying detailed technical graphics to a car like this requires precision. Drawings and fine lines must follow the contours of the bodywork without losing clarity, and the collaboration with HP is designed to make that possible. For the sponsor, the project is also a showcase of what its printing technology can do in a demanding setting.
Silvia Cavallaro Explains the Design Idea
Silvia Cavallaro, Ferrari’s head of Colour and Trim, said the livery brings the hidden creativity of sketches and expertise to life before the cars hit the track. Her comments point to the thinking behind the project. Every car starts as drawings and technical work that most fans never see, and this design turns that background work into the visible identity of the car.
It is a neat idea for a team with Ferrari’s history. The drawings that shape the SF-26 are the product of the engineers and designers who built it, and the livery lets that work take centre stage for one race weekend.
Ferrari Arrive in Austin After Singapore Podium
The special livery arrives at a busy point in Ferrari’s season. In the previous round at the Singapore Grand Prix, Leclerc converted a front-row start into second place behind Max Verstappen. Ferrari had hoped for a stronger result, because Hamilton’s race was affected by a mistake that cost the team a possible double podium. Hamilton apologised to the team afterwards and took full responsibility.
The SF-26 showed encouraging pace on the streets of Marina Bay, and Ferrari will hope to build on that in Austin. The Circuit of the Americas offers a different test, with a mix of long straights, fast sweeping sections and slower corners that ask different questions of a car.

Ferrari have enjoyed success with the SF-26 this season. Hamilton won the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, becoming the first driver over the age of 40 to win a Grand Prix since Nigel Mansell in 1994. Leclerc later won the British Grand Prix, giving the car two victories ahead of the Austin weekend.
With a striking new livery, a driver pairing that has already won races, and momentum from Singapore, Ferrari go into the United States Grand Prix with plenty of attention on them. The blueprint design will be on show from Friday practice, and fans will be watching to see whether the performance on track can match the impact of the look.
