Alpine Reveal Striking Yellow suits for Interlagos

Gasly and Colapinto swap pink for special Brazil kit.

Alpine has unveiled special yellow-and-blue race suits and matching boots for Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto at this weekend’s São Paulo Grand Prix. The limited-edition kit replaces the team’s usual pink and blue at Interlagos. The design carries the colours of Mercado Libre, a partner of the French team that has supported Colapinto’s Formula 1 career, as reported by GPKingdom.

The Brazilian round runs from 6 to 8 November. Yellow is the dominant colour of the suits, and the graphic was created specifically for the event. Alpine presented the look through a set of images showing the suits from different angles, highlighting their details and visual identity.

Alpine’s Yellow Race Suits at Interlagos

The suits will make their first appearance when the cars take to the track on Friday, and both drivers will wear them for the rest of the weekend. Blue is used as the secondary colour, and the combination takes the place of the pink and blue that normally identifies the team.

In its statement, Alpine said the team will have a special look in São Paulo in partnership with Mercado Libre. Alongside the handshake logo already carried on the engine cover, Gasly and Colapinto will wear yellow suits and boots to celebrate the partnership. The car and the drivers will therefore share one theme at Interlagos.

The design is also personalised for each driver. Colapinto’s suit reportedly includes the Argentine flag, his initials FC and the number 43 that identifies his car.

The Mercado Libre Partnership Behind the Design

Mercado Libre is the Argentine e-commerce company that has backed Colapinto’s rise in Formula 1. In Brazil the company trades as Mercado Livre, the Portuguese spelling of the name. The special suits are part of the collaboration between the Enstone-based team and the South American company, and they turn the partnership into a visible feature of the São Paulo weekend. Interlagos is the closest race on the calendar to Argentina, which makes it a natural stage for the brand.

Yellow has appeared on Alpine’s equipment before. Mercado Libre joined the team as a sponsor at the start of 2025, and Colapinto serves as the brand’s ambassador on track. That October, Alpine and the company unveiled a special livery at the United States Grand Prix in Austin. The yellow accents stayed on the A525 through the Mexico City and São Paulo rounds, as part of a campaign called Unidos por la Velocidad, or United by Speed.

The 2025 launch was not limited to the car. Mercado Libre planned special activations in Mexico City, São Paulo and Argentina, with the aim of celebrating Latin American talent and bringing Formula 1 fans closer to the sport. Its chief marketing officer, Sean Summers, said the company shares a passion for speed and excellence with the team and with Colapinto.

This season the idea goes further. The handshake logo on the engine cover of the current car is now joined by yellow suits and boots, so the colour extends from the machine to the people driving it.

Why the Colours Matter to Colapinto and Boca Juniors Fans

Yellow and blue are also the colours of Boca Juniors, the Argentine club Colapinto supports. Alpine’s stated reason for the suits is the Mercado Libre partnership, and the resemblance to Boca’s colours is not part of that explanation. Even so, it gives the kit extra appeal for the Argentine fans who follow Colapinto.

When the yellow livery was first launched in 2025, Colapinto said that racing alongside a company that shares his values of commitment and perseverance made the project even more meaningful. For this weekend, he said in Alpine’s statement that racing in South America is always special and that Interlagos is one of the best tracks of the season. He added that many Argentines will join Brazilian fans in the grandstands to support the team, and that he wants to make sure they get a good race.

Gasly and Alpine Look to Bounce Back After Mexico

Alpine arrives in São Paulo after a difficult Mexico City round. Gasly said that weekend brought real challenges, including power problems and a yellow-flag infringement, and that it ended in a disappointing result for the team. He added that Alpine will try to use every opportunity to leave São Paulo with more points.

Gasly has strong memories of Interlagos. He took his first Formula 1 podium there in 2019 and finished in the top three again in 2024, when Alpine scored a double podium with Esteban Ocon.

The 2025 race was a mixed weekend for the team. Colapinto crashed heavily in the Saturday sprint, and Alpine changed his chassis during the weekend. He finished the Grand Prix in 15th place. Gasly’s point was the first for the Enstone team after seven weekends without scoring, and he was the only Alpine driver to score in 2025, and Alpine also confirmed Colapinto’s place for 2026 in São Paulo that weekend.

There is one more change in the garage. Academy driver Gabriele Minì will replace Gasly in the first practice session on Friday, driving the A526. It will be his second consecutive official practice outing after Mexico City, and Gasly will return to the car for the later session.

What to Expect When Practice Begins

Fans will see the suits in action as soon as the weekend gets under way on Friday. The yellow-and-blue look is a limited edition made for this race, and Alpine says it is meant to celebrate the partnership with Mercado Libre. For Alpine, the aim is simple: turn a striking new look into a better result than Mexico City.
